Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions
Choosing care for someone you love brings up a lot of questions. Here are answers to the ones we hear most. For anything specific to your family, please call us at (469) 891-6713.
Getting started
How do I know if my loved one needs home care?
Common signs include trouble with bathing or dressing, missed meals or medications, falls or near-falls, a recent hospital stay, or feeling lonely and isolated. If you are worried, talking with us is a good first step. We can help you understand what kind of support may help.
How do we get started?
Call us or send a message through our contact page. We will talk about your loved one’s needs, arrange a visit to the home and create a care plan with you.
What happens during the in-home assessment?
We meet with you and your loved one at home to learn about health needs, daily routines, safety concerns and personal preferences. We use what we learn to build a care plan that fits.
Can I arrange care for a parent who lives in another city?
Yes, as long as your parent lives in or near the Dallas, Rockwall, Kaufman or Ellis County areas we serve. See all 49 cities. Many families coordinate care from a distance, and we keep them informed along the way.
Our services
What services do you offer?
We offer personal care and companionship, skilled nursing and home health, services through Texas Medicaid waiver programs, and pediatric care. You can read more on our services page.
What is the difference between personal care and skilled nursing?
Personal care helps with everyday activities such as bathing, dressing, meals, light housekeeping and companionship. Skilled nursing is medical care provided by a nurse under a physician’s orders, such as wound care, medication management or monitoring after a hospital stay.
Do you care for children?
Yes. We provide pediatric care at home for children with medical or developmental needs. Call us to talk about your child’s needs.
Can the care plan change over time?
Yes. Needs change, and your care plan should too. We review plans regularly and adjust them when your loved one’s health or situation changes.
Paying for care
How can we pay for care?
We accept private pay, Medicaid, long-term care insurance and VA benefits. Read more on our paying for care page.
Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes. We work with Texas Medicaid, including waiver programs that help people receive long-term care at home. Eligibility and coverage depend on the plan and program, so please call us and we will help you check.
Will long-term care insurance cover home care?
Many long-term care insurance policies include home care, but every policy is different. We can help you understand what information your insurer may need.
Can veterans use VA benefits for care at home?
Some veterans and their surviving spouses may qualify for VA benefits that help pay for care at home. Contact us and your local VA office to find out what may be available.
Caregivers and safety
Who will be caring for my loved one?
We match each client with caregivers or nurses suited to their needs. We introduce your care team and keep the family informed about the schedule.
How do you keep families informed?
We communicate openly with families about the care plan, visits and any changes we notice. You can always call us with questions or concerns.
What if we are not comfortable with a caregiver?
Please tell us. Your comfort and trust matter, and we will work with you to find a better fit.
How can I reach you with a question about current care?
